The Top Five Seattle Neighborhoods

The Seattle PI recently explored "Seattle's most charming neighborhoods" in order to assist potential homeowners who are looking for the ideal combination of price, transportation, schools, and more. The PI compiled a list of 15 but here are there top 5:

5. Magnolia. As the article describes, Magnolia "is the second-largest neighborhood in the city." It is also home to Discovery Park, where The Homes at Fort Lawton are currently being restored. Further, the area is "home to some beloved restaurants and cafes, such as the Magnolia Village Pub."

4. Downtown - The Seattle PI says that the downtown area "is the 'Seattle' all those tourists come to see. And who can blame them? Attractions include the Great Wheel, Pike Place Market and some of the best shopping in the city."

3. Columbia City "is known for its ethnic and economic diversity" and also boasts a "vibrant community of shops and restaurants, and it's also extremely walkable."

2. Lake Forest Park is a bedroom community located just north of Seattle, but makes the list because of its proximity to the Burke-Gilman trail and its housing of  "Third Place Books, which is one of the largest used bookstores in the Seattle area."

1. The most charming neighborhood in the city? Ballard. It makes the list for its "35 local boutique businesses in the surrounding area" in addition to its "strong ties to its Nordic heritage," and who can forget its inspiration for the "2009 Disney-Pixar film 'Up.' You can't get more charming than that."
